You've been turning this career decision over for months, maybe a lot longer. Whether it's staying or going, taking the step up or turning it down, working out what comes next after a redundancy, or deciding what happens with the business that's been taking more out of you than you can keep giving, you've weighed it from every angle and the thinking keeps bringing you back to the same place.

It's there in the quiet moments of the day and it's still there when you're lying awake at night, and while the months keep passing you stay just as stuck as you were.

Thinking has solved almost everything in your life except this, because the answer you're looking for sits underneath the thinking, and that's where this session takes you.

What happens in the session

This is a live guided session on Zoom, built around a guided immersive meditation. If that word makes you sceptical, you're in good company, because it made me sceptical too. This has nothing to do with relaxation apps, emptying your mind, or manifesting anything. There's no pitch, no slides, and nothing to take notes on. The only writing you'll do is capturing what you receive.

Without giving you the whole science lesson, the practice settles the nervous system out of its threat-scanning gear and slows brain activity toward theta, the slower rhythm associated with a reflective state. The mental chatter quietens, the inner critic loses its grip, and the more imaginative, intuitive side of the mind comes forward.

What you receive there is different from what you reason your way to. Thinking is the answer you work out on the surface. Knowing is the answer that was already there underneath, and this is the state where people tend to hear it.

You'll set your focus around the question you've been circling, and I'll guide you into that state. From there, prompts and imagery raise your awareness in ways the analytical mind doesn't manage on its own, and you'll have time to listen for what's there. Then you'll write it down by hand, however it comes out, and I'll guide you through identifying what matters most in what came through.

You'll leave with that on paper, along with the micro action you're taking forward.

Who this is for

This is for you if you're carrying a real career decision, whether it's been circling for months or landed on you recently, and you're someone who usually works things out by thinking them through. You've likely already done plenty around this: the lists of pros and cons, the conversations with people you trust, maybe the journalling, the reading. The problem isn't a lack of information or understanding, and more of either isn't going to move it.

It's not for you if you're looking for someone to tell you what to do, what to think, or what to decide. My job is guiding you to self-source your own solutions to your own challenges. And it's a working session rather than something you sit back and watch, so come ready to take part, with a pen, a notebook, and an hour where nobody needs you. Camera on or off is up to you, and there'll be chances to share what came up, in the chat or out loud, with no pressure either way.
